SynchronisMUN is the Model UN conference organized by Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce, Pune annually. The first season of a Model UN conference for the college was held in the year 2016. Since then SCAC in association with the college debating association, SEDA, and the department of banking and economics, has been organising Model UN conferences for students till now. This is our fourth season. However, the last three seasons were organised under the name SCACMUN. It was this season that the organisers decided that it needed a little revamping. After tremendous deliberations, the name SynchronisMUN was zeroed down upon. The word is a coalition of ‘Synchronism’ meaning coexistence which also happens to be a synonym to ‘Symbiosis’ and one of the mottoes of Symbiosis society’s and ‘MUN’ – the abbreviation for Model United Nations. SynchronisMUN is a platform that opens the sphere for individuals with a potential for leadership qualities. It is an extraordinary amalgamation of ideas and opinions rendered open to fresh minds to ponder upon.
In dynamic times like these, we at SynchronisMUN aim at inculcating much-needed qualities such as professionalism and diplomacy in youngsters so that they are ready for the real world. We also try to kindle an interest for extensive research in those who haven’t been privileged enough to be exposed to it until now and rekindle it in those who have lost the spark that they once had. SynchronisMUN is an endeavor to enlighten the youth with world affairs because we believe knowledge is power, it opens minds and expands horizons and this gives us undying motivation to expand our knowledge along with yours. With every passing season, we are on a constant drill to raise our standards to a new pedestal and make the portfolios and personalities of our associates as versatile as we can. One day we hope to extend a plethora of knowledge and that we are able to spread this love for knowledge of ours as far and wide as we can and that is our ultimate aim
